Connect Claude
Opius Drone uses Claude as its AI brain. During your 14-day free trial, Claude credits are included — no API key needed. After the trial, you bring your own Anthropic API key (BYOK).
During the Trial
Your drone comes pre-loaded with platform-provided Claude credits. There is nothing to configure — just launch your drone and start using it. The trial includes enough credits for full usage across all drone types.
After the Trial (Bring Your Own Key)
Once your trial ends and you subscribe, you’ll need to provide your own Claude API key. You can add it at any time — before or after the trial expires.
Option 1: Claude API Key (Recommended)
- Go to console.anthropic.com
- Navigate to Settings → API Keys
- Click Create Key and copy it (starts with
sk-ant-api01-...) - Paste it into Settings → Configuration in your drone dashboard
Your API key is encrypted at rest. It is never logged or stored in plain text.
Option 2: Claude Max Subscription Token
If you have a Claude Max subscription ($100/mo for unlimited usage):
- Go to claude.ai
- Open your browser’s developer tools
- Find the OAuth token (starts with
sk-ant-oat01-...) - Paste it into Settings → Configuration
The subscription token provides unlimited AI usage, making it the most cost-effective option for high-volume drones.
How Much Does Claude Cost?
During the trial, Claude usage is free (included in your trial credits).
After the trial, costs depend on your key type:

Changing Your Key
You can update your Claude key anytime in Settings → Configuration. The new key takes effect on the next run.
Internal Users
Users with @opiusai.com accounts always use the platform-provided key and do not need to supply their own.
